We had a great week. It was much easier to accomplish all our skills and tasks with a full week! This week we will be reading The Signmaker’s Assistant. Our focus is cause and effect through how characters respond to events. We will also be continuing on with writing opinions. We have a math test on Tuesday. We will start on time after we assess for money. Mid-terms come out this week on Wednesday. Please sign those and return them back before Friday. If you have questions about your student’s progress, please let me know. We will be in school this Friday to make up the snow day that we had early on in January. Please ignore the previous calendars stating that we had off February 3, 2017. Thank you. -Mr. McDannald | Reminder: |

I hope everyone had a great snowy weekend! Early dismissal went really well. If you have number changes or early dismissal instructions, please let me know those as we enter into the wintery part of the school year. We will finish up the first half of our math book this week. We are planning to test on Thursday. We will introduce money on Friday. I have spoken to the students about taking home chapter books every night now. I have instructed them to read the nonfiction book first, and then spend ten or more minutes in a chapter book. I would like to prepare them for third grade expectations by having students read longer texts. Please let me know if there are any questions about early dismissal, teaching money, or new AR goals. I hope everyone has a pleasant week! -Mr. McDannald | Reminder: |

Welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a pleasant Winter Break. We will wrap-up our first half of our second grade standards in math this month. We then move on to our measurement and data standards. We will have a short little fun story for part of our ELA tasks. I will be trying to get updated STAR results for the students this week. Please be looking out for those new reading levels by Friday. Remember that bonus packets are due Friday. Also, please make sure I have your updated emergency dismissal plans and contact information on file here as we enter into the more wintery part of the year. Thank you! -Mr. McDannald | Reminder: |
